The Agreste Water Supply System, one of the complementary works of the Project for the Integration of the São Francisco River with the Hydrographic Basins of the Northeast, is one of the largest water supply projects in the country, with an estimated value of 2 billion Reals. TPF Engineering was commissioned to design the system that will ensure the supply of treated water to some 2 million people in the Agreste region of Pernambuco. The water will be drawn from the Ipojuca Reservoir, the starting point of a complex piping system extending for over 807 miles, with pipe diameters ranging from 71 inches to 4 inches, as well as 17 pumping stations, benefiting 80 urban districts and a number of rural communities.
